ORDERSAcknowledgements- Acknowledgements are faxed to dealers 24 to 72 hours from receipt of order with an approximate ship date. The confirmation must be approved by the dealer and faxed back to our office. If there are changes or mistakes, please correct them. We will fax a corrected acknowledgment for your approval. If dealers do not approve acknowledgements, orders will be placed on hold. TERMS50% - 50%: 50% deposit due when order is submitted with remaining balance due 2 weeks before shipping of merchandise. We accept all major credit cards, and keep your signature on file with our credit card authorization form for your convenience. CANCELLATIONS/CHANGES/DELAYSPlease take extra time to proof our acknowledgement to ensure accuracy. Your signed acknowledgement is the final order. Every effort is made to produce and ship orders by our acknowledgement ship dates. However, we cannot be responsible for shipping delays due to circumstances beyond our control. PACKAGING OF FURNITURECharles Carol Designs uses quality packaging to ship our merchandise. Upholstered corners are padded with foam, bubble wrap and cardboard for added protection. We double wrap the merchandise in a heavy-duty plastic outer cover. Removable legs are packaged inside the upholstery for added protection. SHIPMENTSOrders are shipped FOB from Los Angeles, California. Dealers are asked to specify the carrier of their choice. If dealers do not specify a carrier, our shipping department will choose one for them. We will choose the most reliable and economical carrier we can find for the dealer’s area. Charles Carol Designs will not accept responsibility for differences between quoted and actual freight rates. Dealers must specify whether they would like shipments consolidated whenever possible (consolidation will add to shipping time). Also, Charles Carol Designs cannot be held responsible for any delays due to transportation nor for any damages that occur during transit (see below). DAMAGES OR DEFECTIVE MERCHANDISEDamages Charles Carol Designs merchandise is carefully inspected before it is wrapped and shipped. Occasionally, merchandise will be damaged by the carrier. If this should occur, accept the merchandise, note damages on the freight bill and file a claim with the carrier. Freight claims are between the dealer and the freight carrier. Charles Carol Designs cannot be held responsible for transit damages. Defective MerchandiseIf an item delivered is believed to be defective, accept the merchandise and notify our office. Do not refuse the merchandise, as refusal gets the carrier unnecessarily involved. Items refused by the dealer for this reason will not be accepted back in the factory and could result in additional freight and storage charges being billed to the dealer’s account. Please take pictures of the damage or quality issues and email them to . We must receive picture to process a claim. Charles Carol Designs reserves the right to have a company sales representative inspect any item reported to the factory as defective, damaged or in need of local repair. Original packaging materials must be retained and made available to us as part of our inspection process. Failure to retain these materials could result in denial of the claim by Charles Carol Designs. Local repairsWritten authorization for repairs, and written approval of repair estimates, must be obtained from our office prior to any repairs actually taking place. Reimbursement for approved local repairs is done in credit form only, and will be applied toward the payment of future Charles Carol Designs invoices. Credits are issued upon receipt from the dealer of a copy of the paid repair bill showing the charges, the item repaired, and the description of the repair made. Credits cannot be issued before receiving this information. Returns to factoryOur office must give written authorization before any merchandise can be returned to the factory. All returned merchandise must be padded, protected and wrapped, as truck companies will not accept claims on unprotected merchandise. Due to the fact that our merchandise is custom ordered and not factory stock merchandise, we cannot accept merchandise back for credit. Charles Carol Designs reserves the right to be able to repair and return any merchandise to the original purchasing dealer regardless of the dealer’s agreement with the customer. Items returned to the factory without authorization will be refused and the freight or storage charges will be the dealer’s responsibility. Inspection by a company sales representative is required before a return authorization is issued. Please note that Charles Carol Designs does not accept returns on merchandise that a dealer and/or customer decide they simply do not like. Such merchandise is the dealer’s responsibility. FRAMESFRAME WARRANTY is for the lifetime of the first owner. We construct our frames from kiln-dried hardwoods and no synthetic or processed woods are used. Kiln-drying is an extra process where the wood is heated in an industrial oven to remove excess sap and moisture. Frames joints are glued, blocked and stapled, contributing to the long-lasting integrity of the frame. Horizontal rails are added to further strengthen the base. SPRINGSWe use Sinuous Springs an “S”-curved piece of 8 gauge metal wire, secured to the front and back rails. The springs are tied together at several points making a unified spring system that moves as one. PADDING AND FILLSWhen a frame is sprung, the next step is the filling, padding and cushions. The frame is padded with high-density foam, cotton or poly to create a tight, tailored wrap foundation. This gives a smooth surface for the application of fabric. IMPORTANT NOTE-Feather inserts must be removed before cleaning cushions and pillows with steam, water or solvents. The fabric casings must be cleaned empty, even if being professionally cleaned. Feather inserts must be dry-cleaned only W To prevent overall soil, frequent vacuuming or light brushing to remove dust and grime is recommended. Spot clean, using foam only from a water-based agent such as mild detergent or non-solvent upholstery shampoo product. Apply foam with a soft brush in a circular motion. Vacuum when dry. Pretest small area before proceeding. Use a professional furniture cleaning service when overall soiled condition has been reached. Clean only in a well-ventilated room and avoid any product containing Carbon Tetrachloride or other toxic materials. Pretest small area before proceeding. Trim Dye lots and shading cannot be guaranteed on merchandise ordered at separate times, nor can we guarantee exact dye lot matches to our swatches. Recommended Trim Cleaning code WS. It can be hand applied around the arm panels or the base. Please check the price list for this information. Customer’s Own Material (C. O. M.)All C.O.M. fabrics sent to our factory must be clearly marked with your store name, purchase order number and customer name. Please send a sample attached to a copy of your order to the factory. The C.O. M. charge is grade C price. Basic yardage requirements listed are only for 54” wide good in solid patterns. If your material has a pattern of stripe and/or is less than 54” wide, add the percentage below to the basic C.O.M. yardage requirements when ordering the fabric. If your pattern runs into the roll or is railroaded with a repeat of 24”-36”, a 25% cutting charge will apply.
FURNITURE LINGO 1.8 High Density: The weight of on a cubic foot of foam is its density. The higher the density the better surface softness and deep down support the foam will have. Polyester Batting: A synthetic fiber wadded into rolls or sheets used for stuffing furniture and mattresses. Eight-way hand tied Springs versus Sinuous Springs: 8-way hand tired springs simply does not offer a more comfortable “sit” for the money. Current springing technology gives you a performance-proven arched seat deck providing incredible comfort and durability. 8-way hand tied springs are more costly to repair. Tailored Upholstery: A furniture frame that has fabric fitted and permanently attached. Bottom Band: A decorative detail created using two welts and padding creates “band” on the front seat deck. Twisted Cord: A mixture of spun rayon, acetate, and cotton making a 3/8” twisted cording. Brush Fringe: we have created a beautiful mingled 2” fringe in nine custom colors out of spun rayon, acetate and cotton yarns creating a truly opulent treatment. Fringe can be Bullion Fringe: we have created a beautiful mingled 9” fringe in nine custom colors out of spun rayon, acetate, cotton and chenille yarns. Bullion can either be used with or without a kick pleat skirt making a elegant statement. Kick pleat Skirt: Our Upholstery kick pleat skirts are a generous 9” of fabric, backed with a flex stiffing to retain their shape and best of all we still fully line the skirts with fabric. Ruffled Skirt: Our Upholstery ruffled skirts are a generous 9” of gathered fabric creating a elegant cottage feel. Capri Ruffled Skirt: Our Upholstery ruffled skirts are a 5” gathered fabric skirt stopping just the “calf”, showing of the exposed wooden leg. Welt: ¼” Cotton cording with fabric SEWS around making a decorative finished cord. Contrast Welt: ¼” Cotton cording with a contrasting fabric sew around making a decorative finished cord. Flat Flange: We remove the ¼”Cotton cording from the welt creating a flat ¼” to ½” flanges. Ruffled Flange: is an 8” strip of fabric folded in ½ making a 4” ruffled flange. The ruffled flange is then sewn in place of welts on the seats & back cushions make a high-end cottage look. Nail Head Trim: Decorative antique finished brass nail ¾” or ¼” hand applied to arm panels, bottom bands creating a rustic treatment. Collage: The combining of up too 6 different fabrics on an upholstered frame or a slipcover. Two-Tone: The combining of two different fabrics on an upholstered frame or a slipcover. Slip covered Upholstery: Fabric that is sewn as a removable cover to place over a muslin covered furniture base Over locking: The raw edges of the fabric are surged with an over locking machine creating a strong finish edge preventing the fabric from unraveling; just like a fine garment. Slipcover with Kick pleat Skirt: Our Slipcovers with a kick pleat skirt are a generous 9” of fabric and are fully lined. Slipcover with Ruffled Skirt: Our Slipcovers with ruffle skirt are a generous 9” of gathered fabric creating a elegant cottage feel. Slipcover with Capri Ruffled Skirt: Our Slipcovers with Capri ruffle skirt are a 5” gathered fabric skirt stopping just the “calf”, showing off the exposed wooden leg. How to put on a slipcover: Gently pull relaxed fitting slipcover down over the top of the piece, carefully working it from top to bottom; front to back. It might be necessary to tuck here and there to achieve the look you want. Place the seat cushion on the back edge (notice the front edge is rounded). Now start to put the cushion cover on the front with the zipper toward the back. Fold loose back pillows or throw pillows in half before stuffing into pillow covers, and then work corners of pillows into corners of pillow covers. There's a certain relaxed feel and look to your slipcover. Most large creases and wrinkles will fall out in a few days. Frame: are warranted for 7-years of the first owner against breaking or warping. We construct our frames from kiln-dried wood. We do not use engineered woods in any of our frames. Joints are reinforced with blocks to provide lateral support and larger areas are screwed and high-pressured stapled contributing to the long lasting integrity of the frame. Horizontal gut rails are added to give additional strength to the base. Frames are doweled, glued and pressured stapled at each joint.
Springs: We use an updated spring system comprised of heavy arched 8-gauge steel serpentine springs. These serpentine springs are secured to the front and back of the frame with Teflon coated metal clips. Teflon coating prevents the “squeak age” from the metals rubbing together. We space the springs 4” apart bonding them together with paper-coated cross wires for even weight absorption. We use the most current springing technology giving you a performance-proven arched seat deck that provides incredible comfort and durability. Warranty 7-years of first owner FABRIC LINGOBacking: A coating that is applied/sprayed onto the back of fabric to prevent seam slippage and excess wear. Brocade: Rich jacquard-woven fabric with all-over interwoven design of raised figures or flowers. Jacquard: Intricate method of weaving in which a head-motion at the top of the loom holds and operates a set of punched cards according to a motif desired. Jacquard fabrics include brocades, damask, and brocatelle. |
